Frequently Asked Questions

We’re always happy to answer our customer’s FAQs about air ducts & dryer vent systems and services. The following are answers to the most common FAQs we receive:

What are air ducts?
Your air ducts are the passages that facilitate airflow through the ventilation system for your home or business environment. The furnace or air conditioning unit forces the cooled or heated air through the ventilation system.
Why should I have my air ducts cleaned?
You should schedule air duct cleaning at least every 3 to 5 years. You may need to consider cleaning if you notice offensive odors, poor airflow, a dramatic increase in allergy symptoms, or even sick building syndrome. If you don’t know when the air ducts have been cleaned, you should schedule a cleaning right away. In most cases, you will see immediate improvements in your energy bill when we clean your air ducts.
How do air ducts get dirty?
Air ducts get dirty even with regular, normal use. Your air filters simply cannot remove all the dirt, contaminants, and allergens from the air. To achieve the best possible air quality for your home or business, you should schedule a cleaning of your air ducts, with the replacement of your air filter.
Can dirty air ducts cause allergies and health problems?
Dirty air ducts can cause issues with allergens, colds, sore throats, and coughing. If you are susceptible to allergies as well as pulmonary or respiratory issues, you may experience more severe symptoms when your ventilation system is dirty.
Will a dirty ventilation system correlate to a higher energy bill?
Poorly insulated ducts and a dirty ventilation system can affect the quality of your airflow and thus directly correlate to higher energy bills. Your system will likely be forced to run longer to achieve the thermostat settings.
How long does it take to clean air ducts?
As part of our fast and reliable service, we offer a comprehensive evaluation. As part of our consultative process, we’ll discuss our rough estimate for the air duct cleaning. In most cases, it typically won’t take longer than 3 to 5 hours, but it will depend on your ventilation system, room count, square footage, and specific requirements.
